Arriving in Washington DC!

We arrived in DC earlier than we had planned. It gave us extra time to see the Monuments and War Memorials along the mall. This is the Washington Monument taken from inside the WWII memorial.

We walked to the Lincoln Memorial from the Washington Monument. We experienced foul weather, but our spirits were not brought down because of it. We kept moving and a great time was had by all.

This is from the inside of the Lincoln Memorial. The children tried their hand at counting the steps to get to the top. Many of the children shared their expectation of some of these Monuments. Some children thought the Monuments would be bigger than they actually were, or were enormous compared to how big they had expected them to be in person.

Of course there were ducks. Not just any old ducks. Cute, fuzzy, WASHINGTON, DC ducks!

We are looking forward to more sunny weather tomorrow. The weather says there should not be a cloud in the sky. The children are excited about their schedule for tomorrow. OK... so they are GEESE ... WASHINGTON, DC Geese!
