Day One ~ Part Two

Folks searched for names and checked out the scene at the Vietnam War Memorial. Names etched in stone seemed to flow on for a mile. The kids enjoyed picking out familiar names in the seemingly endless sea of soldier names. There was a lot of reflection on what the names meant and what it took for the names to be able to be engraved in the wall.

Lucas took some time off while in the World War II Memorial to lean on the Washington Monument and gather his bearings....

Ken and Alex strolled along the World War II Memorial dancing through raindrops and taking in the history of the day.

Bonnie and Brian Sullivan at a corner of the Washington Monument. Even wind, rain and cold could not keep the smile of excitement of their faces!

Adrienne and Willow Ross huddle at the corner of the Washington Monument as teeth chatter in the breeze. Both very happy to be on this trip!

Brian Sullivan and a very small section of the Washington Monument. It was quite bigger than one would have expected!
